For centuries, indigenous cultures from around the world have used plant medicines as a way to heal the mind, body and soul. It is only recently through science and clinical research that we have begun to understand the power of these medicines.

When used in the treatment of psychological conditions such as PTSD, various forms of addiction, anxiety and depression, plant medicines have proven to be safer and more effective than modern medications.

Our plant medicines are Psilohuasca and Ayahuasca

Theme weekend: "self-love" living from the source

What we want to offer is a safe place where we can explore what is holding us back from loving ourselves with complete surrender. What keeps us from coming home to ourselves.

Psilohuasca is a new and modern kind of Ayahuasca.
It combines the MAOI with the active ingredient Psilocybin which can be found in magic mushrooms and truffles.

Since the molecular structure of DMT and Psilocybin is extremely close, the effect of Psilohuasca are very almost identical to those of Ayahuasca
Ayahuasca is an ancient plant medicine used by shamans in south america for a very long time. The earliest archaeological evidence of Ayahuasca dates back to the year 1000 A.D but it is believed that Ayahuasca has been in use even long before that.

The Ayahuasca tea is brewed out of two plants: one that contains MAOI (for example: Banisteriopsis caapi ) and one that contains DMT (for example: Psychotria viridis). This combination allows the active ingredient (DMT) to reach the brain.

The effects of Ayahuasca vary from one person to the other and even from ceremony to ceremony. It has been known to cause strong hallucinations but the most important effect is the ability to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and what's holding you back, resolve traumas (from present or past life), to overcome addiction and to gain a better understanding of the universe, our role in it and the connections we have with other people.
MAOI is legal all over the world and is used in many medications.
The active ingredients of  Ayahuasca (DMT) is only legal in Spain, Portugal and many countries in south america.
The active ingredient in Psilohuasca (Psilocybin) is legal in the Netherlands as long as it is produced from magic truffles and in Colorado.
Ayahuasca and Psilohuasca are extremely similar.
The molecular structures and effects when combined with MAOI are reported to be almost identical.
The biggest difference is from a legal point of view - Psilohuasca is legal in the Netherlands and Colorado while Ayahuasca is legal in Spain, Portugal and many countries in south america.
Both Ayahuasca and Psilohuasca are not addictive at all. There are a lot of people in the world who have experienced many Ayahuasca and Psilohuasca ceremonies but there are zero people addicted to any of them.

Furthermore, the human body does not build up tolerance to either Ayahuasca or Psilohuasca. Which means you don’t need to drink more tea if you go through Ayahuasca and Psilohuasca ceremonies frequently.
Ayahuasca and Psilohuasca ceremonies have been proven to be extremely safe. But since the effects of these substances are very strong, it is imperative to only drink Ayahuasca or Psilohuasca with guides\facilitators who know this plant medicine and can assist you during the ceremony.

In the few cases where the consumption of Ayahuasca was linked to casualties, a handful of cases out of thousands of ceremonies held around the world every year. The cause of the problem was usually a combination of Ayahuasca with other active substances or pre-dating medical conditions.
Ceremonies are very different from one person to the other and from one ceremony to the other.
you may experience extreme bliss, deal with, re-experience and get over traumas, gain a much deeper understanding about what drives you or what’s holding you back, deal with fears of death or with the trauma of someone close passing away, gain a better understanding of present or past lives or a deeper understanding of how the universe works.
No matter what you go through and whether it’s blissful or difficult, most of the people who go through an Ayahuasca or Psilohuasca ceremony report the experience as being extremely beneficial to their day to day life and experience a deeper connection to themselves and their surroundings and the weeks and months after the ceremony.
Ayahuasca and Psilohuasca ceremonies are not recommended for people with a history of high blood pressure or heart problems.
Furthermore, it is extremely dangerous to consume MAOI while taking Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) medication such as Citalopram (Celexa), Escitalopram (Lexapro), Fluoxetine (Prozac),Paroxetine (Paxil, Pexeva) and Sertraline (Zoloft)
which are usually used to deal with depression or other psychological issues.
You can only attend an Ayahuasca or Psilohuasca ceremony at least one month after the last time you took any of these medications.

If there are any other medical conditions you have or medication you regularly take - it is imperative to consult with your doctor before deciding to join an Ayahuasca or Psilohuasca ceremony.
It is not recommended to brew or drink Ayahuasca or Psilohuasca on your own and it is critical to always have an experienced guide with you when you journey with Ayahuasca or Psilohuasca
The effects of Ayahuasca and Psilohuasca differ from one person to the other and so does the length of the experience. Usually, the effects of Ayahuasca and Psilohuasca can be felt for 4-6 hours and up to 8 hours.
Due to the high acidity of the brew many people tend to purge (throw up) during Ayahuasca and Psilohuasca ceremonies.
Purging is not just a physical action as it also allows you to get rid of negative energy or emotions.
Each participant is given a bucket just for that, and the staff of Ancient Mother will be there to make support you when you purge.
No!!!
It is extremely dangerous and life threatening to consume MAOI while taking Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) medication.
Ayahuasca and Psilohuasca are not magic remedies and won’t solve all your problems.
Experiencing a ceremony will probably help you understand your problems better and find more effective ways to move towards a solution, but you’ll still need to do the work yourself.
There is no right or wrong answer here. Some people feel that they’ve learned enough even after one ceremony, some make it a tradition to do a ceremony once a year and some do it every couple of months.
Usually, after your first ceremony, you will notice a need a calling for another ceremony after some time has passed. All you need to do is be attentive to the signs, you’ll know when it’s time to return.
A ceremony is a very personal experience and therefore, if you come to a retreat with your partner or spouse we will position each of you in separate places in the room. If you go through a ceremony next to each other, your experience might affect your partner's experience or vise versa, and that’s not recommended.
It is recommended to do a retreat together, or go through one if your partner has done so in the past.
this can deepen the connection between you and allow your partner to better support changes in your life that are a result of what you’ve learned on the ceremony.
If you wish to use the ceremony to work on issues you’re facing as a couple, it’s recommended to schedule a private session just for the two of you.
That is up to you. Private sessions are more expansive but beyond that, experiencing a ceremony with a group helps a lot pf people process what they’ve witnessed during the ceremony. Each group has its own energy and usually, the group can support you through rough experiences without direct communication.
Other than that, it’s just nice to have people to talk to about the experience when it’s done.
A private ceremony is done only with people you know. It can be just you, you and your partner or you and a close friend. Some people have family ceremonies where they experience Ayahuasca or Psilohuasca with their mother, father or siblings.
In a group ceremony you will go through the experience with 4-8 people that you didn't know before. This is the most common and recommended way to drink Ayahuasca or Psilohuasca since the group supports you during the ceremony and you get to meet like minded people, create new bonds and friendships and get to see many angles of the healing that plant medicine can bring.
