A form of yoga that offers various methods such as

  • Kriyas: postures and breathing exercises
  • Mantras: sung prayers
  • Mudras: hand positions
  • Meditation: mental exercises

Kundalini yoga differs from most other forms of yoga because the emphasis is not on the asanas (postures) but on the total of techniques. A kundalini yoga class therefore always includes all the methods mentioned above.

These techniques act on the various bodies such as the physical, emotional and mental bodies. If there is a change (breakthrough) in one body, the other bodies follow automatically because of the mutual connection.
